Last week, we were thrilled to introduce you to the AutoCAD web app, included with your AutoCAD 2019 or AutoCAD LT 2019 subscription. Now, get ready to meet the AutoCAD web app’s feature roadmap.
Why We’re Excited About the New AutoCAD Web App
You may have seen the previous iterations of a web-based AutoCAD, but the new AutoCAD web app is like nothing that’s come before; we’ve rebuilt the app from the ground up by combining the AutoCAD codebase with the cutting edge of web browser technology.
AutoCAD Core Technology
With AutoCAD’s RealDWG technology and graphics engine behind the AutoCAD web app, you get the precision, consistency, and fidelity you’ve come to expect from AutoCAD, even when you don’t have access to the desktop application. You also get your core AutoCAD commands, which means that everything you already know how to do can be transferred to the new platform immediately, with no extra learning or training.
Anywhere, Anytime Access
With no install required, you can literally use AutoCAD from anywhere, on any laptop, as long as you have an internet connection and a web browser (and hey, if you don’t have a computer handy, may we suggest checking out the AutoCAD mobile app?). Our powerful web and mobile apps enable you to work on the go, secure in the knowledge that AutoCAD will be there for you.
The AutoCAD web app is not a substitute for the desktop application, but rather an extension of it, and we’ve designed it to help you complete a few key workflows when you’re away from your desk. You can access tools like PLINE, DIM, MTEXT, OFFSET, and TRIM in a simplified web interface to help you view, edit, and annotate your DWGs on the go.
The AutoCAD Web App Feature Roadmap
Because the AutoCAD web app is built on AutoCAD’s codebase, we’re able to move quickly to develop features we know you want. We’d like to share some plans about where we’re going, and we’re hoping you’ll give us feedback to help us prioritize what comes next.
So, without further ado, we invite you check out our feature roadmap, and to engage with the AutoCAD product team in the AutoCAD web app community — and don’t forget to log in to web.autocad.com to watch for frequent updates to the platform!
