We’re in the planning stages of AU 2013, and the Call for Proposals opens in a little over 3 weeks.
To help you get an early start, we’ve posted proposal guidelines and other information on the AU website now. You might begin by asking around to see what kinds of topics your colleagues are interested in having as part of the curriculum. You can test some of your topic ideas on them as well.
What’s New This Year?
- Session length—To minimize overload and allow more time for networking:
- Morning sessions will be 90 minutes.
- Afternoon sessions will be 60 minutes.
- Hands-on labs will be either 75 or 90 minutes.
- Preliminary and follow-up roundtable sessions—We’d like to see lectures and hands-on labs accompanied by either a preliminary or follow-up roundtable discussion on the same topic.
- Virtual classes—We will not be offering on-demand virtual classes this year. Instead, AU Online LIVE will live-stream the AU Las Vegas 2013 Keynote Address and some selected sessions from the conference.
- Languages—All classes will be in English this year.

If you have ideas for a great class proposal, we’d like to hear from you. Here are some important dates:
- Submissions begin: April 23, 2013
- Submissions deadline: May 19, 2013
- Classes selected and speakers notified: June 27, 2013
