AU 2018 Call for Proposals: What’s New and What’s Next

AU
May 23, 2018

The fields of architecture, engineering, and design are transforming. AU is the learning community focused on helping you not only adapt, but thrive. AU Las Vegas is where that community comes together each year to share knowledge and insight, develop skills, and gain perspective.

And it all starts with the Call for Proposals (CFP). This is how we gather your ideas for what classes to offer in November, at AU Las Vegas 2018.

CFP for AU Las Vegas 2018 is open. Submit now.

New Trends, New Topics
This year, we’ve introduced priority tracks to share the trends that are top-of-mind for the community. Proposals that address these can be more competitive than general proposals, so keep them in mind as you ponder your session possibilities. You’ll find a detailed breakdown of these in the CFP guide, but here’s a taste:

  • Industrialized construction—What can AEC learn from manufacturing? How can we make construction more efficient, repeatable, and component-based? And do all building activities have to happen on ever-changing construction sites? Show us a better way.
  • Connected BIM—How can we keep data at the center of the entire construction process, from predesign and preconstruction through handoff and operations? What efficiencies can we discover? Tell us what Connected BIM means to you.
  • Advanced manufacturing—From new systems and processes to new materials, how is the design and manufacturing industry embracing emerging technologies? How can generative technologies expand design possibilities? How can intelligent automation enable us to make things more intelligently?

Learning for Every Level
AU continues to focus on offering content for professionals of every level. Sessions for those new to industry are essential, but it’s equally important to help seasoned pros become advanced practitioners and thought leaders. Consider proposing a range of classes for different learning levels and see where your knowledge is needed most.

What’s your big idea? What’s the insight you can add that can change the way your colleagues approach their work? Now is the time. Download the CFP guide and get started.
