Credit where (AIA) credit is due

There are tons of great reasons to come to AU—keeping up with the evolution of industry practice, absorbing thought leadership, getting your annual AUGI party pint glass. But don’t forget AU is also a good place for professional accreditation. And it goes beyond Autodesk Certification.

Licensed architects need to collect a certain number of continuing education Learning Units (LUs) every year to maintain their state license as well as their AIA membership. A course must be AIA-approved to qualify for the LU designation, and we’ve got more than 340 AIA-approved classes to choose from at AU Las Vegas this year.

Each hour you’re in an AIA-approved class counts as 1 LU, down to the quarter hour, so a 1.5-hour class counts for 1.5 LUs. (The AIA reminds you not to count break time, but we know you’d never do that.) To receive your LU credit, simply sign in with your AIA number as you enter the class and the credit should appear on your AIA transcript within a few days. If it’s not there after 10 days, you can follow up with AIA and give them the name of the course to get credit.

From live design to virtual reality, Revit to Dynamo, BIM to IoT, there are all kinds of AIA-approved AU Las Vegas 2016 classes to choose from, and they all count. So kill a few birds with the same stone: learn about what’s next for AEC, discover how your peers are solving common problems today, and log those hours to maintain your license. And don’t forget to get your collectible AUGI pint glass, too. It’s a real keeper.
