“In the next 10 years, you are going to see more change than you have seen in your lifetime.”

—Amar Hanspal, Sr. VP, IPG Product Group, Autodesk

Venture capitalist Steve Jurvetson of Draper Fisher Jurvetson delivered an inspiring keynote exploring the compounding nature of disruptive innovation in what he calls the “renaissance of learning.” (That would be now.) As a sitting board member at multiple groundbreaking companies including SpaceX, Synthetic Genomics, and Tesla Motors, Steve definitely has his finger on the pulse. (He’s also the world’s first Tesla Model S owner. Yeah, we totally want to be his friend too.) He shares fascinating case studies about pioneers in robotics, biotech, transport, and other leading and emerging industries, and asks the question: “Will we design the things of the future, or will we evolve them?”

“The greatest achievement of our technology may well be the creation of tools that allow us to go beyond engineering—that allow us to create more than we can understand.”

Danny Hillis, The Pattern on the Stone

Autodesk VP of Corporate Strategy Jon Pittman presents tangible lessons in innovation that you can apply to your own business using 3 key ingredients: skill set, tool set, and mindset. He says in order to make the leap from “sustaining” to “breakthrough” innovation you must embrace the innovation mindset.
