In celebration of #GivingTuesday—an international day of giving back—which falls on December 1, we’re offering AU attendees a chance to make a donation to 1 of 2 nonprofit design organizations supported by the Autodesk Foundation. If you didn’t choose to have a donation made on your behalf during registration, or you want to make your own donation, this is your chance to do so on-site at AU.

And here’s the really awesome part: The Autodesk Foundation will match all funds raised through the registration donation drive and the on-site #GivingTuesday campaign. The organizations we’re supporting this year are:

  • Proximity Designs: This enterprise applies user-centered design principles to create affordable products and services for farmers in rural Myanmar. Their products help families living in extreme poverty boost their income and improve their quality of life.

  • Build Change: This organization designs disaster-resistant homes and schools in emerging nations, then trains builders, homeowners, engineers, and government officials to build them. In the process, they help local residents develop marketable skills that give them greater control over their long-term safety and economic security.

Come by the registration area anytime between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to make a donation, and we’ll snap your photo for fun and easy social sharing while you’re there. Dig deep and join in the #GivingTuesday celebration worldwide.

Giving has always been an important part of AU. Each year we host a volunteer activity that lets attendees donate an hour or 2 of their time to help a selected Autodesk Foundation grantee. This year’s organization is e-Nable, a global community of digital humanitarians who design, fabricate, mass-customize, and distribute 3D-printed hands and arms for children born without limbs or those who’ve lost a hand or arm due to illness or trauma. Be sure to sign up through the AU 2015 class catalog to secure your spot to volunteer during the networking lunch in the Exhibit Hall.
