There will be two members of Autodesk who will be giving talks at the International Manufacturing Technology show and the Additive Manufacturing Conference, which is running parallel to IMTS.
Stephen Hooper – Senior Director, Industry Strategy and Business Development at Autodesk

Based in San Francisco, California, Hooper is responsible for all aspects of the go-to-market and commercial growth of the manufacturing business. He partners closely with the sales and products development teams to define strategic direction and investment priorities.
Hooper originally qualified as a mechanical Engineer in the United Kingdom, and after spending time working for a UK based industrial machinery manufacturer, joined Autodesk 16 years ago. Since then, he has occupied a number of leadership roles across sales, marketing and product development. This diverse experience is what drives his passion for the manufacturing business.
In Hooper’s talk, entitled “Manufacturing in Transition – From traditional CAD/CAM to Cloud based Collaboration”, he will be discussing how the manufacturing industry is moving beyond the desktop software era. CADCAM on its own can no longer address increasingly complex manufacturing problems. Manufacturers are posed with the problem of how to connect diverse process together; CAD, CAM, data capture, data analysis and collaboration.
Drawing on his own personal experience working with Swissomation and Paragon D&E, Hooper will explain how the move to the cloud and subscription models is the way forward. By examining current CADCAM desktop solutions, he will explain the benefit of moving resources to the cloud in order to achieve instantaneous collaboration and the ability to solve pervasive problems.

Haspal’s talk, entitled “How Additive Manufacture drives the Future of Making Things”, will explain how Additive Manufacture is a quickly evolving technology that is changing the design and make process. New and innovative technology such as machine learning and generative design are helping companies deliver products that are customised, connected and higher performing. Companies of all sizes need to embrace the emerging future of manufacture and take advantage of these growing trends.
Haspal will explain to those in attendance the benefits of considering adopting additive manufacture as a viable industrial technology for making functional parts. Using real world customer examples suck as Airbus and Under Armour, he will discuss recent advances in industrial 3D printing and discuss how close the industry is to accepting the additive manufacturing technology as a mainstream production process.
