And you may have noticed that even the “desktop” versions of Autodesk products (as they’re so quaintly called) like AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit are making increasing use of web services to process data, improve collaboration, and increase capabilities.

Well, Forge is the cloud-based platform of APIs and components that Autodesk uses to develop those web services. You can also use Forge to develop your own stuff. So whether you want to build web and mobile apps for your design or architecture firm, customize your Autodesk tools, or build independent cloud-based design services, Forge is how you connect data, processes, and people for design and engineering.

The robust Forge developer community gathers every year at Forge DevCon to share knowledge, experience, tips, and insights so you can move your projects forward. (If you attended DevDays at AUs past, Forge DevCon is a similar experience on steroids.)

This year, Forge DevCon will offer more than 50 classes to choose from, including keynotes, hands-on labs, and workshops. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from peers to see what they’re building and how they’re building it. There will be classes about developing for AEC and design & manufacturing, as well as classes focused on developing for AR and VR, IoT, and disruptive technologies of all kinds. There will be a dedicated Forge Answer Bar where you can talk 1-on-1 with Forge developers to get your questions answered. And on Tuesday, November 14, you can attend DevLab, an informal place to drop in, work through self-paced development tutorials, and get help from the Forge team. In short, if you’re developing apps or managing the process, Forge DevCon is something you won’t want to miss.

Combining Forge DevCon with AU

A Forge DevCon pass is $295.
