The February 14, 2017 BIM 360 Docs update includes an updated Android app with offline access, RFI and Issue improvements, access to previous document versions, and notification enhancements.
BIM 360 Docs Android app – now with offline access
Version 1.2.0 of the Android app includes the ability to download documents for offline viewing. We have also added the ability to change the status of an issue while offline, and now support viewing RFI’s created in Docs web.
Offline Access: Now you can select and download 2D drawings and 3D models for offline access. This also includes access to markups and issues, as well as the ability to change the status of an issue while offline.
View RFI’s: RFI’s created in Docs web can be viewed on the Android app. You can view the details, activity, and history.
This update includes a number of improvements to the RFI feature, including enhancements to the RFI input form, the ability to review the RFI details directly from the RFI log, and the ability to create an RFI without associating it to a drawing.
The RFI form now includes an expanded field for the question and an additional field for the suggested answer.
Now you can access RFI’s directly from the list, and edit directly without having to navigate to the drawing.
You can also create an RFI directly from the RFI list.
We have added an RFI indicator in the drawing thumbnail view, similar to how Docs indicates if there are any open Issues or Markups.
The Issue feature has been updated, so that you can review or edit issues directly from the Issue list and create an issue directly. We have also expanded the size of the description field for improved usability.
Improved Folder Notifications
In direct response to customer feedback, we have added the Project Name to the folder notification email subject, so that team members working on multiple projects can more easily identify the activity on each project.
View Previous Versions
By default, Docs always shows you the latest version of the document. Now you can choose to view an older version of any 2D drawing, 3D model, or image managed in Docs by selecting the History option and clicking on the particular version in the panel.
