The latest BIM 360 Docs update introduces a highly-requested feature for monitoring project activity and additional drawing hyperlinking and navigation improvements.
The new BIM 360 Docs Activity Log, which is available to Project Admins, provides a comprehensive record of all project activities, with user, action, date and time details for each entry. Activities tracked include document uploads, views, markups, issues, and administrative actions. This new feature will display all activities that occurred on or after July 29, 2016. To access the Activity Log, go to Project Administration and select the clock icon in the left navigation bar (highlighted in blue in the screenshot below).
Now Docs supports automatic callout hyperlinking and navigation for raster PDF drawings. We have also added the ability to create a manual hyperlink between any two 2D drawings in a folder (PDF, RVT, DWF, DWG). To add a hyperlink, choose the “link” icon in the viewer toolbar, select a region on the drawing, and then select the target sheet.
Callout Navigation Improvements
Now that Docs supports automatic callout hyperlinking for vector PDF’s, raster PDF, as well as design formats RVT, DWG, and DWF, we have decided to improve the navigation experience even more. When you click on a callout link, you will now see a box with the thumbnail preview image of the target sheet, so that you can choose whether or not to navigate away from the current sheet.
In addition to the new features, we also made some quality enhancements and usability updates. In Project Administration, we now allow Admins to edit the company assigned to a user, so that the admin can correct errors and maintain control.
Please try out these new features and send us your feedback. Thank you!
