Web release: Checklist template permissions by company and more!

Checklist template permissions by company

Traditionally, BIM 360 Field project administrators could control access to individual checklist templates by making them visible to all project companies or strictly to the account company users.  We just expended the checklist template permission options to allow you to multi-select the companies, which need access to specific templates.  The new functionality allows your project teams to focus on inspections that are are relevant to their work.

To access the new permissions, as a project admin, go to:

  1. Project Admin menu
  2. Checklists
  3. Edit a QA/QC, Safety, or Cx checklist
  4. Click on permissions drop down to select the desired companies

Checklist item text limit has been lifted

Prior to this improvement checklist item text was limited to 255 characters.  This limit no longer exists providing more flexibility during checklist setup.

Coming soon

  • Manage equipment status options by equipment type
  • Equipment type permissions by company

@rtholia Images that are synced to the iPad, depend on the sync settings for issues and checklists.  If a user has access to certain issues and checklists and those items have images attached, the same images will sync down and appear in the photo module.  Photos that are taken by other users but are not attached to any other items that appear on the iPad, will not appear in the photo module.

Pictures uploaded on an issue through a checklist can be seen by everyone. Is there a way to set permissions on that as well?

    Hello, rtholia,

I am not seeing that behavior. When I choose from the date picker, the year defaults to this year and spans from 2007 to 2027. If you are still seeing this behavior, please post this issue into the BIM 360 Field Forum or log a new support case. Myself or another specialist will reach out to you. Please indicate whethere you are seeing this behavior on the iPad or the web, the browser version or the version of the iOS, and any screenshots that you have. Please be ready to provide specific examples, as needed.

    Thanks,

    Don

@rtholia When creating a checklist item, you can currently configure the checklist item response type to be of the type “Date.” Additionally, custom properties can also be formatted to be the type “Date.” You could format the checklist item text or the custom property name to be “DOB” or whatever other label/name you feel is appropriate. Is this the functionality you require?

Can we get a function that allows a date to be inputted. For example, a DOB?

@molamphyd  Subs will soon be able to access checklists directly from the checklist module.  Current behavior is still through the Task module.

For Subcontractor Access…..are the subs now able to get to the checklists without having to go thru the task module?  Or do subs still have to go thru the task module?
