{"id":1364,"date":"2018-08-06T20:01:09","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T20:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/?p=1364"},"modified":"2018-08-06T20:02:55","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T20:02:55","slug":"bim-360-field-management-update-august-6-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/2018\/08\/06\/bim-360-field-management-update-august-6-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"BIM 360 Field Management Update \u2013 August 6, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Introduction<\/h3>\n<p>The August 6, 2018 BIM 360 Field Management update delivers new functionality to support issue management, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to create custom Issue Types and Sub-Types<\/li>\n<li>Ability to add attachments from your Document Management library as well as hard-drive to your issue<\/li>\n<li>Ability to drop a pin during the creation of an issue<\/li>\n<li>Enhancements to workflow permissions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Ability to create custom Issue Types and Sub-Types<\/h3>\n<p>With the recently released enhancement allowing the customization of\u00a0 Issue Types and Sub-Types, we provide you with the ability to use Field Management to fit your projects Issue Management needs.<\/p>\n<h4>Issue Types<\/h4>\n<p>Field Management provides 7 Issue Types out of the box, Quality, Safety, Punch List, Commissioning, Work List and Warranty. Each Issue Type has to a minimum one default sub-type. If an out of the box issue type does not fit your projects needs, you have the option to set it to &#8220;Inactive&#8221;. An &#8220;Inactive&#8221; issue type cannot be selected as a type when generating an issue. Sub-types are what the issue is assigned to. New sub-types can be added to a given issue type. As shown in the images below, a new Attachments tab has been added to the issue form. Within this tab, any individual depending on their permissions can now add additional supplemental information to the issue from the Document Management library or simply from their hard-drive.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1368\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2018\/08\/Attachment-1024x459.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2018\/08\/Attachment-1024x459.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2018\/08\/Attachment-300x134.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2018\/08\/Attachment-768x344.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Ability to drop a pin during the creation of an issue<\/h3>\n<p>The relationship to a pin dropped on a drawing or model for an issue adds tremendous value. Within Field Management we now have the ability to drop a pin for an issue while creating the issue even when the issue creation was not initiated from a drawing or model.
