{"id":1757,"date":"2019-07-08T21:53:11","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T21:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/?p=1757"},"modified":"2019-07-08T21:53:11","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T21:53:11","slug":"bim-360-field-management-update-july-8th-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/2019\/07\/08\/bim-360-field-management-update-july-8th-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"BIM 360 Field Management Update &#8211; July 8th 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Introduction<\/h3>\n<p>The July 8th, 2019 BIM 360 Field Management update delivers the following enhancements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Permission structure for Daily Logs<\/li>\n<li>Issue column for Checklists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Permission Structure for Daily Logs<\/h3>\n<p>With the recently released enhancement to Daily Logs, project teams can now define who has access to view and edit Daily Logs.<\/p>\n<p>In summary, the following is what is being changed with this enhancement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to set permission levels for Daily Logs within Field Management Project Admin<\/li>\n<li>Define who can Manage vs View Daily Logs by user, company &amp; role\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Manager<\/strong> &#8211; Users are able to edit and publish Daily Logs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Viewer<\/strong> &#8211; Users are able to only view Daily Logs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Not Defined<\/strong> &#8211; Users without a view permission <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>will not<\/strong><\/span> be able to see Daily Logs as a tab option in the Field Management module.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Project Admin Settings<\/h4>\n<p>Within the Project Admin &#8211; Services space, the admin now has the ability to define who has access to Daily Logs on a given project.<\/p>\n<p>The Admin can define if a user, role or company is either a <strong>Manager<\/strong> or a <strong>Viewer<\/strong> of Daily Logs as shown in the image below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1758\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2019\/07\/DailyLogAdmin-1024x583.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2019\/07\/DailyLogAdmin-1024x583.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2019\/07\/DailyLogAdmin-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2019\/07\/DailyLogAdmin-768x438.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2019\/07\/DailyLogAdmin.png 1722w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If a user, role or company is not assigned as either a <strong>Manager<\/strong> or a <strong>Viewer<\/strong> they would not have access to Field Management Daily Logs. As a <strong>Manager<\/strong>, you can edit and publish all logs on the project. This allows the user to not only know which checklists have issues associated to them but to also know which are in progress and require action.
