{"id":2068,"date":"2020-03-24T17:06:13","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T17:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/?p=2068"},"modified":"2020-03-30T21:09:47","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T21:09:47","slug":"bim-360-issue-enhancements-templates-locations-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/2020\/03\/24\/bim-360-issue-enhancements-templates-locations-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"BIM 360 Issue Enhancements &#8211; Templates, Locations and More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month, we\u2019ve released some highly requested features that improve usability and standardization efforts when working with issues in BIM 360.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Issue Templates<\/strong> \u2013 helping to standardize how issues are documented across the project, and speeding the issue creation process in the field<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pin Issues to Location<\/strong> \u2013 saving users time by automatically associating a dropped issue pin to a specific location<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sub-Locations on Issue Filtering<\/strong> \u2013 adding the option to show locations and sub-locations when viewing a filtered issue list<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of these enhanced capabilities helps workers in the field and office execute issue workflows more efficiently \u2013 speeding issue creation, making it easier to locate issues during site walkthroughs, and ensuring all information is captured to help resolve issues quickly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Issue Templates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With the introduction of Issue Templates, team members creating issues can choose from a template with pre-populated information &#8212; such as who it should be assigned to or when it has to be completed &#8212; in seconds and specific fields to fill out.<\/p>\n<p>This brings added value in terms of both productivity on the jobsite through digitization initiatives, plus added ability to use issue data for analytics and continuous improvement &#8212; giving teams reporting they can rely on.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Creating &amp; Managing Templates<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Creating and managing issue templates can be executed by Project Administrators from either the Field Management or Document Management module in BIM 360. A new templates tab allows you to create or edit issue templates \u2013 which are then available for the project.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2066 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2020\/03\/Issue-Templates_Create-Template.png\" alt=\"BIM 360 Create issue template\" width=\"552\" height=\"358\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2020\/03\/Issue-Templates_Create-Template.png 552w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2020\/03\/Issue-Templates_Create-Template-300x195.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During template creation, administrators can specify fields \u2013 including type of work, assignee, time to complete and root cause \u2013 that will be automatically filled in when the template is selected during issue creation.<\/p>\n<p>Template creation and management is available to administrators using the Web UI.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Creating issues using templates<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using templates to create issues can be performed by any team member on either a mobile device or the web. Now, with templates available, a user simply selects \u201cStart from a template\u201d when creating an issue and the pre-defined information is pre-filled.<\/p>\n<p>All other issue detail information specified by issue type \u2013 including the ability to add photos, attachments, comments and custom fields \u2013 remains available in the issue creation dialog.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2067 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2020\/03\/Issue-Templates_Create-Issue-from-Template.png\" alt=\"BIM 360 Create Issue from Template\" width=\"568\" height=\"368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2020\/03\/Issue-Templates_Create-Issue-from-Template.png 568w, https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/bim360-release-notes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/127\/2020\/03\/Issue-Templates_Create-Issue-from-Template-300x194.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By creating and using templates for trades, punch list walkthroughs, inspections and other repeatable workflows, the way that issues are documented gets standardized across the project team and users benefit from reduced manual entry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Pin Issues to Locations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Pin Issues to Locations builds upon the idea of automatically filling in issue details automatically. On the web, issues can be filtered by a number of attributes, including location.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, you could only filter by choosing a specific location \u2013 whether that was a top-level location (like Level 3) or specific sub-location (like Level 3 &gt; Area 1). With this new enhancement, a checkbox can be selected in the filter tool to show sub-locations when a location filter is selected. With this checkbox selected, both the Location and Sub-Location are shown in the issue list.
