The September 2021 Model Coordination update benefits a wider range of customers, projects and workflows with support for all IFC, NWC and VUE file formats.<\/p>\n

Additional file format support<\/h3>\n

IFC<\/strong> files exported from any authoring application, any Autodesk Navisworks NWC<\/strong> file, and VUE<\/strong> files from Intergraph\u00ae SmartPlant\u00ae 3D, are now supported in Model Coordination for aggregation, and can be reviewed in any combination with other supported file formats<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Perform constructability reviews with multi-model navigation, sectioning, access to object properties and capturing issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

*Models opened via the Coordination Issues Add-in for Navisworks<\/a>, are connected to Model Coordination and support Issues-based workflows. Note that any file formats natively supported by Navisworks can be accessed through Autodesk Desktop Connector, however these are not connected to Model Coordination, and Issues are only available on NWD files when working via Desktop Connector.<\/span><\/p>\n

**Includes NWC exported<\/a> from Revit or any AutoCAD-based application, including third-party apps; IFC exported from AutoCAD architecture, AutoCAD MEP, and Civil 3D 2018 and onwards, ARCHICAD, Revit, MagiCAD for Revit, and Tekla Structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inclusion of NWC files, and the ability to auto-clash those from Revit and AutoCAD, presents flexibility in user workflows. For example, exporting NWC files from third-party AutoCAD-based applications ensures custom objects and data are included, without requiring access to Object Enablers.<\/p>\n

Viewer performance improvements<\/h3>\n

The Model Coordination viewer has been upgraded to increase performance, including faster model loading, reduced drop-out and improved geometry prioritization whilst navigating, and reduced memory usage.<\/p>\n

As an example, the below graphic shows the time taken to load 50 models and navigate to a specific location within the building, with the previous viewer shown on the left, and the updated viewer on the right – that’s almost 250% faster to achieve the same task, with this specific dataset.<\/p>\n
