Autodesk University 2021 kicked off officially on October 5th, 2021. Between the Americas, EMEA & APAC, and East Asia, 6 days of classes, meetups, panels and rountables from all over the globe. As the U.S. based virtual conference comes to a close, here is a quick Autodesk University recap, from my viewpoint.
New Platform
A new online platform this year delivered classes, meetups, panels and keynotes in an easily accessible format. While it still is not the same as seeing one another in person, this new platform seems to have delivered well for most .attendees. As the conferences come to a close, this site will remain open until the end of October, 2021. After that, all classes will be moved to the Autodesk University website.
Awesome Keynote Adresses
The entire week, and continuing on into the EMEA/APAC and East Asia conferences, there has been no shortage of excellent and inspiring keynote addresses. From the General Session keynotes to Industry focused talks, tech trends and product keynotes. Autodesk executives, product managers and even customers shared their vision for the future and their perspective on that vision. Key themes included digital transformation, and the Forge platform.
So many classes!
Autodesk University has always had a wealth of classes on almost every topic. This year was no disappointment in that respect. A new format for classes was also introduced this year, as attendees would view the class lecture or demonstration right in the session itself, and then would be able to directly ask questions of the speaker(s). Classes that have already taken place as of publishing this post can be easily viewed On Demand. As always, these sessions will all be available on the Autodesk University website, after the event has wrapped up globally.
Industry & Local Highlights
Take a look at how they have broken down Industry and localized resources into nice neat packages for us. Class sessions, videos, social media, and a variety of documents and resource links… it’s like one stop shopping.
Community Zone
Saving the best for last, what would Autodesk University be without Community. The classes and keynotes are great but, for me anyway, AU has always been about the people. This year the platform gathered an assembly of fantastic resources for connecting attendees to one another in the Community Zone. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to see the #PetsOfAU!
