The Autodesk Community Team brought together women from across the design and technology industries at AU 2022 for a panel discussion on navigating diversity and representation.
The interactive session was led by Tiana Dame, Community Program Manager, and featured Alodia Cano, Sr Product Manager for Community; Amanda Kinley, Sr Community Program Manager; Deborah Lilley, Content and Communications Manager for Community; and Lisa Maggio, Community Operations Manager.
The panel kicked off by reviewing industry statistics on representation and sharing highs, lows, and learnings from their varied careers before inviting attendees to share their stories and give feedback on resources they’d like to see in Autodesk Community in the future. The lively discussion covered topics such as the importance of creating safe spaces, building networks, the transformative effects of mentorship, and ways to nurture the next generations of women designers, engineers, and technologists.
The team is now working on ways to continue the discussion on the Autodesk Community platform, including creating new spaces to connect and curating an event series on diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
