Recognizing that code compliance was a bottleneck during early-stage design, A49 developed a custom plug-in for Autodesk Forma that validates code compliance in real-time. By leveraging the Forma API, A49 links zoning regulations from its server with Forma’s AI-powered design engine. This integration allows designers to simultaneously review design compliance while exploring options that optimize building footprint, volume, open space, area efficiency, and other variables. The validation process that used to take days now happens in seconds, giving designers more time to explore options that maximize profits.
