So glad to see finally that manufacturer’s are joining the BIM process to enable better modelling of civil engineering and landscape designs with real world content.
ACO, a company that manufactures sustainable civil drainage products has recently released content to use with AutoCAD Civil 3D to enable engineers to design with real world products to enhance the quality of their projects.
ACO is a world leader in the design, development and implementation of sustainable surface water management systems. For over 50 years, ACO have pioneered unique solutions that satisfy the need for high performance, environmental excellence, optimal return on investment and long operational life across a vast range of applications.
‘ACO is the first surface water management manufacturer to launch a BIM offering targeting civils and infrastructure projects. Through conversations with our customers, we have recognised the growing desire to gain the same advantages BIM offers construction building projects, and as a result popular ranges from the Water Management and Building Drainage divisions are now available.’
Here I have applied their ACO Kerb drain product in a urban shopping street.
The subassembly has the abilities to change product type, so for example to create a dropped pedestrian crossing and maintain the water channel in the kerb line.
