In a continuing effort to provide high-quality products, Autodesk has released AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017.1 Update. This release includes updates, such as Spec Driven P&ID, and fixes to issues found through internal testing and customer error reporting. The Plant 3D 2017.1 Update is available only to subscription customers. Access and download the Plant 3D 2017.1 update through Autodesk Account Management.
On the Autodesk Account Management website locate Plant 3D by selecting All Products & Services.
Find and select Plant 3D find the More section and then select Updates & Add-Ons.
Then locate AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017.1 Update, select the Browser download and then begin the installation.
Note: Before proceeding to installation make sure all AutoCAD programs have been closed.
The AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017.1 Update installer works like a service pack. It updates an existing AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017 installation. Do not uninstall AutoCAD Plant 3D before installing the AutoCAD Plant 3D Update.

Compatibility with AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017
Projects and drawings created with AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017.1 Update are compatible with AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017 (non-subscription).
No migration is required to work with projects in AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017.1 Update.
AutoCAD Plant 3D Service Pack 1
AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017.1 Update includes AutoCAD Plant 3D Service Pack 1. It is not necessary to first install the service pack before installing the update.
AutoCAD 2017 Service Pack 1 is not included, but can be installed separately.
Spec Driven P&ID
The Spec Driven P&ID feature allows the P&ID to lookup/reference the Plant 3D Spec files so that a P&ID drafter will know if objects in their P&ID are “in spec” (found in the pipe spec) or “out of spec” (aka “off spec” – not found in the pipe spec).
Skewed Piping Improvements
Multiple updates were implemented to correct skewed pipe being represented incorrectly in the drawing. Now Isometrics show offset triangles (skews), triangle boxes and related dimensions and annotations correctly.
