Learn about curated experiences just for you
Each Autodesk University delivers new and exciting experiences and Autodesk University 2018 is no different! With our core infrastructure customers in mind, we planned AU events that’ll excite and inspire civil infrastructure professionals from every industry. We’ve created a new BIM for Transportation Experience, replacing the former Transformation Summit. And for attendees interested in broader Civil Engineering topics, we’ve crafted the Civil Engineering Experience.
The BIM for Transportation Tailored Experience
We’ve integrated the Transportation Summit into a broader AU experience through a series of lunch and learn sessions, labs, and classes covering infrastructure and civil engineering topics with a specific focus on transportation.
If you want to learn about advances in transportation, civil structures, and GIS integration while connecting with colleagues and industry experts in an intimate setting outside the classroom be sure to join the luncheons. Space is limited and for registered attendees only, so be sure to sign up now.
You can also attend sessions to learn how to enhance the civil design process and improve efficiency in transportation engineering projects using the skills, workflows, innovations, and new techniques necessary to achieve optimal results. Topics include how to increase productivity with automation, corridor modeling, 3D design practices, complete collaboration, and reality capture data processing.

Meet Esri and learn about BIM and GIS
We’ve talked about what’s next for Autodesk and Esri. At AU 2018, you’ll have a special opportunity to engage with the Esri team to understand how our joint solutions could benefit your business.
Visit Esri’s booth at A361, hear their presentation at the AU Theater, or join a BIM+GIS lunch and learn that will feature an Esri/Autodesk joint panel Q&A, among other activities – just be sure to register for your spot now!
On Tuesday, November 13, join us at the AU Theater at 1:30 PM for Esri’s presentation on inspiring the digital transformation of communities with BIM & GIS. And, on Thursday, we’ll join forces with Esri’s Solution Engineer, Rafael Fernandes, for a riveting industry talk about putting data at the center.
All-Star Design Slam
Cheer your favorite engineers as they solve new challenges with InfraWorks. This year’s quest – Rock the Stadium. Las Vegas is being “raided” by its very own professional football team and, if you’ve ever been to an American football game, you know things can get exciting. In this 3-part Design Slam, contestants will go head-to-head, designing the equipment, the stadium, and the infrastructure around it. Using AutoCAD, Revit, Dynamo, InfraWorks, Fusion 360, and more, it’s a chance to watch design skills put to the test. Get your game face on, your foam fingers ready, and enjoy drinks and some lively competition. The All-Star design slam on Wednesday culminates with the Play Hard Mixer.
Here’s the schedule:
Wednesday, 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
- 4:30pm-5:00pm: Dynamo/Revit/BIM360 Slam
- 5:00pm-5:30pm: InfraWorks/AutoCAD Slam
- 5:30pm-6:00pm: Fusion360 Slam
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm Play Hard Mixer

Exhibit Hall Expo & Quads
The Architecture and Engineering Quad creates a unified experience where you can meet with your cohorts in your or adjacent industries. At the center of it all is the Autodesk Space, which will house more than 20 exhibits this year and the popular Answer Bar. Make a bee-line to the Answer Bar and meet with our top technical experts.
Community Quads
Connect with your peers and experts at the Community Quads located at the outer corners of the exhibit hall. We have quads dedicated to four communities: Architecture & Engineering, Construction & Fabrication, Design & Manufacturing, and Forge. Look out for the Dynamo Wall installation at the Architecture & Engineering Quad. The Architecture and Engineering Quad in the Exhibit Hall is the place to find industry-relevant discussions, build your professional network, or just find some respite between classes.
A+E Quad Community Meetups:
Join the Community Meetups in the Architecture and Engineering Quad to discuss with your peers and industry experts, topics include:
- Small Firm, Big Challenges
- Closing the Infrastructure Gap
- Civil 3D and InfraWorks
- When Civil and Building Design Collaborate
- Women in Design for Architecture and Engineering
