Civil Infrastructure Public Roadmap April 2022

Homepage

Now that 2023 versions of Autodesk® Civil 3D®, Autodesk® InfraWorks®, and Autodesk® ReCap™ Pro have been released, we’re happy to share the latest and greatest updates we’ve made to the Autodesk Civil Infrastructure Product Roadmap! To learn more, our product management team is hosting an Ask Me AnythingYouTube Live session on May 5th at 10 a.m. Eastern to dig deeper into the roadmap. Bookmark this link to YouTube and set a reminder on your calendars today. We hope you’ll join us!

First, a reminder about how the Public Roadmap works. This is a high-level view of the features and workflows we are considering for future versions of our products. It’s broken down by industry segment (including Land Development, Roads and Highways, Civil Structures, etc.) so you can focus on the areas that are most important to you. Each column contains cards that represent ideas that are either customer requests or strategic goals for the Infrastructure Product Management team. Many cards have labels that indicate where the idea came from; if you click a card, it will expand to show more information about the idea, and in some cases will include links to more information.

What’s your feature request or favorite feature?

Voting is a big deal for the public roadmap! When you expand a card, you’ll see a “Vote” button. When you vote, this lets us know what capabilities you’re most interested in, and that could heavily influence what we work on next. So, go ahead and vote for your favorite features! We’d really like to know. To vote, you will need to sign up for a free Trello account.

You’ll notice there are already a significant number of votes on some ideas. In most cases, a higher vote count translates to a stronger likelihood that we’ll be putting development resources toward implementing that capability idea – but please remember that is not a guarantee you’ll see that idea make it in an upcoming release. Many ideas posted might not get a lot of votes but could still be considered highly as they may be tied more directly to our product development strategic goals.

Autodesk Civil Infrastructure Public Roadmap

What’s changed since the public roadmap was published last November?

If you haven’t looked at the Public Roadmap since we posted it in November 2021, the first thing you’ll notice is that the ideas that were implemented in the 2023 versions of our products have been moved into the Released column. You’ll also notice that a lot of cards from the Performance, Land Development, and Utility Networks categories have also made their way into the Released category. Then, you’ll see a lot of new ideas – all conveniently labeled with an orange New label. These labels should bring your attention to what’s been added since November 2021. Continuing the theme of the 2022.1 update, the 2023 releases have a lot of performance enhancements that make Civil 3D faster, as well as workflow updates to make the end user more efficient while modeling corridors, editing pressurized piping systems, and more.

What value does the roadmap bring to you?

As mentioned earlier, the roadmap gives you a high-level view of what’s under consideration for future versions of our products. It also gives you the ability to influence the direction of our products by voting for features that you believe will have the highest value to you.

We encourage you to submit your own ideas on our Civil 3D and InfraWorks Idea Forums to get more diverse feedback and support from peers. We will continue to select popular ideas from those forums to move into the public roadmap.

Let us know what you think!

And we look forward to your joining our Ask Me Anything YouTube Live session!
