We’re squeezing in one more release this year! There’s a new version of the Insight Revit plugin available today, and we encourage you to get it today.

DOWNLOAD THE NEW INSIGHT REVIT PLUGIN

If you’ve upgraded to Revit 2017.1, then you already know about the built in Energy Optimization panel that provides access to energy analysis capabilities of Insigh. The new plugin for Revit 2017 will update the Insight panel with EnergyPlus heating and cooling loads, solar analysis, and new lighting analysis options. In addition to previous LEED and custom style lighting and daylighting analyses, you can now study daylight autonomy (specifically LEED v4  EQc7 opt1) and direct solar access. Be sure to check the follow up blog posts that will dive into each of these workflows.

You also now have the ability to store multiple lighting analysis results with a single model. When an analysis is complete, be sure to save your model, and you’ll be able to recall any saved analysis results.

Stephanie Egger

Stephanie Egger is a building scientist and engineer, and passionate about reducing building energy use through education. She works on the Autodesk Building Performance Analysis Team where she exposes customers to the latest high performance building design tools and provides training on to how best use them. Previously she co-authored and launched a series of online courses that educate the next generation of designers.
