Market Street, San Francisco’s civic spine, should be revitalized as a place to stop and spend time, meet friends, people watch, or just stroll while feeling the heartbeat of the city. As part of the Market Street Prototyping Festival, the creative community now has the chance to help make that dream a reality.
Autodesk is seeking proposals for a large-scale urban design prototype to serve as a physical, visual and social anchor for the Embarcadero district of the festival. Engineers, industrial and interactive designers, architects and artists are invited to submit designs aimed at creating a vibrant public space that increases community connections and social interactions. The selected project and team will be fully supported by Autodesk’s Pier 9 Workshop, with ample opportunity to collaborate with other designers and makers, receive training on state-of-the-art industrial machinery, and enjoy software support for all Autodesk products.
Proposals are due by Sept. 2. To get additional information about the project and submission process, please Download this RFP. More detail on Autodesk’s involvement in the festival can be found in this blog post.
