Available Now: Roads & Highways Workflows using Infrastructure Design Suite 2014
The infrastructure industry is at an inflection point. We face enormous challenges, like failing infrastructure and an urgent need for new systems to support a projected global population of 9 billion in just a few short decades. Meeting these challenges will require a new way of working. Fortunately, the accelerating use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) on infrastructure projects indicates that change is underway.
The adoption of BIM is great, but one of the greatest challenges is the need for professionals skilled in the application of a BIM workflow process. Autodesk is helping to meet that need with a unique BIM for Infrastructure workflow training and BIM Specialist certification program. It’s all to help build and demonstrate BIM understanding and skill beyond single product proficiency.
A first-of-its-kind Autodesk Official Training Guide (AOTG) covering a comprehensive BIM workflow is now available from Ascent Publishing. Titled Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite 2014: BIM Workflow for Roads and Highways, the AOTG illustrates the value of the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 Ultimate, featuring Autodesk InfraWorks as part of a powerful BIM workflow for roadway design, and helps prepare for the certification exam.
This unique training goes beyond “picks and clicks” to illustrate how Autodesk BIM for Infrastructure workflows can help owners and service providers working on Roads and Highways projects improve productivity, optimize designs, and accelerate project approvals. The courseware simulates a roadways project — from planning and design through visual communication and construction documentation — using an integrated BIM workflow with products available through the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 Ultimate, including: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk InfraWorks, Autodesk InfraWorks 360, and Autodesk Navisworks Manage software.

“Autodesk Certification is a must for engineering professionals and companies like PB; it sets a standard benchmark of knowledge we can rely upon when hiring or forming project teams”, said Rebecca Arsham, CADD Training Manager, Parsons Brinckerhoff.
