Autodesk SVP Jan Becker Selected as Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year

Autodesk
May 9, 2014

For more than 14 years, Autodesk Senior Vice President Jan Becker has led the Autodesk Human Resources and Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Travel and Safety and Security (CREFTS) team.  As Autodesk has grown, evolved and transformed itself over that time, Jan and her team have played a critical role in ensuring that Autodesk is not only a great place to work, but also that the company is appropriately structured to support the business strategy and future direction.  While many of her peers on the executive leadership team are regularly featured as part of Autodesk news and announcements, Jan and her team play more of a behind the scenes role, so it is extremely rewarding to us that Jan has been selected by HRO Today Magazine as their Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year!

At an award ceremony earlier this week in Philadelphia, Jan accepted the award and spoke about some of the ways that she and her team has helped keep Autodesk competitive and innovative.

  • Autodesk recently implemented an innovative new performance management process that eliminated annual written reviews and introduced ongoing, quarterly performance conversations between managers and employees, where the focus is on the employee’s development and goals
  • Autodesk’s Talent Acquisition team was an early adopter of social media platforms including LinkedIn to recruit candidates, and today is developing the next generation of online recruiting solutions that will help further personalize and place people at the center of recruiting process
  • The Autodesk Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Travel and Safety organization has used Autodesk software to design and build a global portfolio of award-winning, world class workspaces that have achieved exceptional sustainability ratings.  These spaces reflect Autodesk’s creative culture, energy, and innovation and help attract and retain top talent.   These facilities have also helped the company get on almost 20 Great Place to Work lists globally over the past three years, including in 2014 when we were #70 on FORTUNE’s 100 Best Places to Work list.

Please join us on congratulating Jan and the entire HR and CREFTS teams on this honor!
