From ancient murals and rich tapestries, to modern works of art and eclectic prints, people have been expressing themselves through illustration for centuries.
If you can imagine it, you can sketch it. Live it. Sketch it. Share it.invites youth from around the world to tell their story using Autodesk SketchBook Express – a free*, fun and intuitive drawing app – and share it online to inspire millions of people around the world.
Open to youth aged 13 to 24 from over 30 countries across APAC, EMEA, LATAM and USA, Live it. Sketch it. Share it. challenges participants to use Autodesk® SketchBook’s® powerful design elements like layers, shapes, and textures to depict an important moment in their life or represent their cultural influences.
By transforming any desktop or tablet device into a digital canvas, the free app puts over 100 pencils, markers, and airbrushes, as well as custom paint color options at your fingertips to digitally doodle and draw – without having to invest in costly art supplies.
“This is a great opportunity for educators to encourage their students to express their personal creativity by incorporating the challenge into their art, history, and social and cultural studies classes. There are also plenty of SketchBook learning resources freely available on the Autodesk Digital STEAM Workshop,” said Naman Khan, director of secondary education at Autodesk.
The competition is open until 31 July 2014, and a panel of seven judges from the fields of art and design will choose the winners across three competition categories. With a prize package valued at approximately US$2,500 and comprising online art class scholarship at www.schoolism.com, a Wacom® digital design tablet, and the winning entries shared with millions of fans around the world on the Autodesk SketchBook blog, deviantART, Facebook, the Autodesk Education Community and the Autodesk Design Competition websites, this is an opportunity not to be missed!
