{"id":131,"date":"2015-09-15T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-15T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/2015\/09\/15\/latest-updates-for-autodesk-advance-steel-reflect-commitment-to-serve-the-steel-industry\/"},"modified":"2016-06-16T20:45:07","modified_gmt":"2016-06-16T20:45:07","slug":"latest-updates-for-autodesk-advance-steel-reflect-commitment-to-serve-the-steel-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/latest-updates-for-autodesk-advance-steel-reflect-commitment-to-serve-the-steel-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Latest Updates for Autodesk Advance Steel Reflect Commitment to Serve the Steel Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Key enhancements include enhanced drawing styles for shop drawings, new BOM templates, connection libraries with AISC values and IFC for Fabrication<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>By Christian Erickson, Autodesk<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One of the things I\u2019m most excited about these days is supporting Autodesk\u2019s commitment to rapidly developing steel detailing and fabrication workflows, which is helping to accelerate the steel industry\u2019s move to Building Information Modeling [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/solutions\/building-information-modeling\/overview\">BIM<\/a>].\u00a0 Our mid-year update of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/products\/advance-steel\/overview\">Autodesk Advance Steel 2016<\/a> really reflects that commitment with a set of compelling enhancements &#8212; now available to Autodesk Subscription customers &#8212; that we will highlight at a special September 22 webinar. \u00a0Be sure to check it out and <a href=\"https:\/\/us.gep.autodesk-services.com\/registration\/42299\">register now.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One thing I want to stress up front is that user feedback and customer interactions with our product and development teams drove the productivity improvements found in the mid-year R2 update of Advance Steel 2016.\u00a0 With that in mind, the R2 release of Advance Steel 2016 is designed to help users provide deliverables for fabrication more efficiently and effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Key enhancements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Enhanced drawing styles for shop drawings<\/span> \u2013 New and enhanced out-of-the-box drawing styles for the US market will help users produce more accurate shop drawings while also improving productivity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: line-through\"> <a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/inthefold.autodesk.com\/.a\/6a017c3334c51a970b01bb0871fe18970d-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a017c3334c51a970b01bb0871fe18970d image-full img-responsive\" title=\"1\" src=\"http:\/\/inthefold.autodesk.com\/.a\/6a017c3334c51a970b01bb0871fe18970d-800wi\" alt=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Search filter queries import\/export<\/span> \u2013 To help reduce time-consuming repetitive query configuration, Advance Steel users can now search filter queries and share them with other users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Connection libraries with AISC values<\/span> \u2013Connection libraries contain saved values for the most common connections used in the US market.
