{"id":2371,"date":"2017-11-08T11:00:05","date_gmt":"2017-11-08T16:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/?p=2371"},"modified":"2017-11-03T14:51:58","modified_gmt":"2017-11-03T19:51:58","slug":"india-forge-accelerator-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/india-forge-accelerator-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Autodesk India conducts its first Forge Accelerator Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By\u00a0Anand Pujari<\/p>\n<p>14 creative developers from seven companies got the unique opportunity to participate in India\u2019s first <a href=\"http:\/\/autodeskcloudaccelerator.com\/forge-accelerator\/\">Autodesk Forge Accelerator Workshop<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<p>During the intense week-long Workshop in Bangalore, the developers worked on their chosen projects with the help of Autodesk Forge experts to turn a great idea for a new product into a working prototype using Autodesk application program interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2372\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/11\/ForgeAccelerator1-e1509575334608.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2372\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2372\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/11\/ForgeAccelerator1-1024x615.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2372\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Companies submitted their applications to join the Forge Accelerator Program, and those with a great idea for a web service product using an Autodesk web service API were invited to join Forge Accelerator Workshop<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Specifically, participants in the inaugural India Workshop learned to use the following Forge APIs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Forge Data Management API: <\/strong>Manage data across <a href=\"https:\/\/a360.autodesk.com\/\">A360<\/a>, Fusion 360, and Autodesk\u2019s native Object Storage Service<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forge Model Derivative API: <\/strong>Translate design files from one format to another, prepare them for online viewing, and extract geometry data<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forge Viewer<\/strong>: Show off design files in a web-based viewer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forge Design Automation API<\/strong>: Run scripts on design files at cloud scale<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forge BIM 360 API (beta):<\/strong> Automate and integrate with the Autodesk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/solutions\/bim\">BIM 360<\/a> products<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reality Capture API: <\/strong>Generate 3D textured meshes from photographs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fusion 360 Client API:<\/strong> Fusion 360 applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With SaaS delivery quickly outpacing traditional software product delivery methods, analysts like IDC expect that cloud software models will account for $1 of every $5 spent on software by next year.<\/p>\n<p>By partnering with developers and innovators to expand opportunities and connect all the steps to design, make and use the next generation of products, Forge will help advance a cloud connected ecosystem in support of the future of making things.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2373\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/11\/ForgeAccelerator2-e1509575382519.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2373\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2373\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.autodesk.com\/inthefold\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/11\/ForgeAccelerator2-1024x615.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2373\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Companies that participated in the inaugural Forge Accelerator Workshop in India were Atkins, Hi-Tech Software Solutions, Monarch Innovation, Neilsoft, Risersoft, Smarter Dharma and Unifize.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Want to join a Forge Accelerator Workshop in a city near you?
