Here are the stories that caught our eye.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Not a potato chip.<\/strong> One of our favorite industrial design blogs, Core77, has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.core77.com\/posts\/72216\/The-Final-Cradle-to-Cradle-Design-Challenge-Yields-4-Creative-Solutions-to-Drive-the-Circular-Economy\">a rundown<\/a> of the Cradle-to-Cradle Design Challenge (which we\u2019re proud to sponsor), with some very\u2026unique award winners, like a compostable battery that recharges with salt and vinegar.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>These shoes compute.<\/strong> We\u2019re all about Nike\u2019s new Epic React Flyknit running shoes, which use generative design to make soles that are lighter, softer, and more durable. Scientists think that the Earth eclipsed its solar panels during rotation, draining its battery and causing an automatic system restart. (The astronomer\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/skyriddles.wordpress.com\/2018\/01\/21\/nasas-long-dead-image-satellite-is-alive\/?utm_content=bufferaee30&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=buffer\">own blog about the discovery<\/a> is also pretty great.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Clean up these toys or I\u2019ll turn them into furniture.<\/strong> Old toys go in, trendy (and sustainable) children\u2019s furniture comes out.
