Since the dawn of time, tools have been shaped by humanity. Autodesk is a company of toolmakers and our goal has always been to build on that history of creation and provide the tools that help people imagine, design, and create a better world – and not just a better world in the future, but a better world today.  <\/p>\n

When we look at the design, creation and production of our future products, we know that tools are all about inspiring the imagination; improving the function of the things we design and their performance in the real world; focusing on the art and science of actually making things; and, finally, it\u2019s about the process of design, and how we pull all these things together to create something amazing.<\/p>\n

Over the past 30 years, Autodesk has formed a vision of what tools will shape the world\u2019s future and we continue to do so through a global conversation with current and future customers who are continually exploring the power and potential of design and technology. In this video, created at Autodesk University 2012, some of the world\u2019s most creative thinkers reflect on the role of tools in design:<\/p>\n

New tools not only make it possible <\/em>to do new things, they also expand our vision of what could be.
