Working out of the Autodesk Technology Centre in Toronto, residents from Forcen are exploring ways to provide a digital sense of touch for high reliability robotics in surgery, manufacturing, aerospace, and defense.

Founded in 1965, SkillsUSA is nonprofit organization that supports and grows the country’s workforce, imparting professional skills while addressing the very real skills gap that affects workers and employers alike. With a rigorous program, curricula, and credentialing process, SkillsUSA is working to ensure students graduate with the technical aptitude and soft skills needed for their careers.

Now, Autodesk has partnered with SkillsUSA to prepare students for the future of work. “Autodesk shares the vision of SkillsUSA—to produce the most highly skilled workforce in the world,” says Kyra Ward, senior manager on the Autodesk Learning Partner Channel team. “Together, we are helping students digitize their skillsets and preparing the next generation of innovators for the Future of Work.”

This partnership gives the SkillsUSA community—including students, educators, and administrators—free* access to Autodesk’s professional-level software, including Fusion 360, a powerful cloud-based 3D design, engineering, and manufacturing tool combining CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB design on one platform. In addition, educators will have access to free in-person and online workshops taught by Autodesk Learning Partners, including introductions to topics like Fusion 360, CAM, and Generative Design.

Autodesk is also a national sponsor of the 2022 National Leadership & Skills Conference taking place from June 20-24 in Atlanta, GA. Autodesk will be hosting an “Intro to Engineering in a Box” workshop as part of SkillsUSA University for educators. The workshop will focus on designing, stimulating, and manufacturing parts for real-world use to provide instructors with curricula and content to use in their classrooms.
