Check out the new Reality Capture Gallery

Proud of that panoramic point cloud you’ve captured? Tickled pink about the 3D mesh you’ve stitched together from 2D images?

If so, you should check out the Autodesk Online Gallery. This cloud-based gallery is the official Autodesk platform for designers and engineers to publicly publish and present 3D models, point clouds, meshes, renderings, CAD files, and other related materials. It has dedicated sub-galleries for Autodesk products such as Fusion360, FormIt, ReMake and Infraworks.

And it has recently been expanded to include dedicated gallery for all of the reality capture projects.

Publishing your photo-to-3D or laser scanned projects to the galleries is simple.  You can share your projects from your ReCap 360 dashboard (at Note that when you share a project from the ReCap 360 dashboard, you are given the option of publicly share that goes on the online gallery, or privatelyshare the project with specific individuals by specifying their email addresses. Only the option to publicly share your project uploads it to the online gallery.

Using either method, you can add descriptive information about the project, as well as industry and product tags to allow easy project searching by gallery visitors. You can add project assets such as point clouds or meshes, as well as still images and videos. Gallery visitors can then interact with the projects in 3D by panning, sweeping, zooming, and so forth.

The online gallery offers a variety of professional networking and interaction features. For example, you can comment on a project, ‘like’ it, or share it on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. You can click on gallery users to find out more about them, chat online with them, email them, follow them, and check out who they’re following.

So if you’re passionate about your work, you should definitely investigate the ReCap gallery. It’s meant to help professionals or hobbyists showcase their work, get feedback on projects, and build a professional reputation among peers. What’s not to love?
