Wait, what does a triangle mean?**
This resource is an old favorite but a great one, for new users or recently upgraded users looking to understand what is going on with their Vaulted files the Autodesk Vault Icon Reference page is the place to go.
The page is broken down into Vault Basic and document revision editions for 2011, 2012 and 2013, covering all local copy status types from the simple circle indicating a local copy exists through to checked out or released but not latest version.
One of the key differentiators in the document revision editions of Vault (Workgroup, Collaboration and Professional) which we cover, is the combination of text fonts and icons to better relay more complex status, the fonts replacing check marks and crosses to indicate checked out to you, checked out to another user or available for check out.
Other notable additions include the colored padlock status indicating a file is locked and available locally or not and of course the information icon which contains more details about the file status and why there may be something you need to resolve.
As you start out with a new Vault environment I would certainly recommend you print a copy of this or at least have it as a shortcut for quick reference, oh and that triangle**: that means the local copy is a historical revision of the leading revision in the vault.
