Under the Hood - All things PDM and PLM

Autodesk University

Increase your Vault workflow knowledge by attending the following Autodesk University 2017 classes.

IM119808 – Vault 2018 – What’s new

The 2018 release of Vault data management software had major enhancements in areas such as experience design, engineering efficiency, and enabled administrative tasks delegation. This class will give you an overview of some of these enhancements.

IM123663 – Publish and Manage 2D PDF’s in Autodesk Vault 2018

In the latest release, Vault data management software introduced the capability to automatically publish and share 2D PDFs of drawings during the release process. In this class, we’ll explore the different aspects of this new functionality. We’ll take you through the steps to correctly set up this publishing process in Vault and show you the different publish options. The PDF format of a 2D design file is used in many firms to facilitate communications among engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and other departments. We’ll also teach you how to let users outside your engineering department access the PDFs for printing and other workflows. This session will feature Vault Professional data management software and Vault Workgroup, including the use of the Vault Job Processor.

IM118897 – Managing Your Properties with Vault Professional

This class will look at properties in Vault Professional data management software, both system and user defined. We’ll explore where to access them, how to create mappings to your CAD files, and how to use that information in Vault software or on your CAD files themselves. I will use examples from my own Vault setup to show the power of property data and how to use it. Examples will include property mapping to both files and items. Come to this class to start thinking about how these might help you in your Vault setup.

MFG120638 – What the Heck is  Custom Object

This class will focus on the effective use of Custom Objects in Vault Professional data management software to replace spreadsheet-based tracking systems. In addition, you will become familiar with other opportunities to put Custom Objects to work in your environment.

IM124925 – Utilize Autodesk Vault and the cloud to address your collaboration challenges

Collaboration with customers and partners is increasingly critical for many businesses. Engineering teams need to collect feedback from customers early in the development cycle and work with partners to outsource manufacturing or other processes. In this class, we’ll look at how you can rely on Vault data management software to manage your engineering data and processes together with the cloud for collaboration with outside customers and partners.
