Headquartered in Trübbach, Switzerland, Evatec makes thin film production tools for the semiconductor, optoelectronics, and photonics industries. As a fast-growing company, their solutions must be flexible for many different markets.

Evatec thin film technology is in our offices, our homes, our cars, and our smart devices. We might not see them with the naked eye, but the thin films made by Evatec are everywhere. In fact, Evatec technology has been shaping the world for over 70 years.

From high-brightness LED lighting for automobiles to face recognition technology for mobile phones, designing and building the best thin film production solutions is the daily business of Evatec. A highly skilled team of scientists and engineers with a portfolio of 400 patents support customers around the globe.

Every customer is different and that means being flexible to develop and deliver customized solutions quickly and efficiently. Evatec already used Autodesk data management and CAD software, Vault and Inventor. Now they needed product lifecycle management to connect their data, people, and processes even more for greater collaboration and efficiencies.

CAD, PDM, and PLM all a one stop solution

Evatec chose Autodesk PLM software, Fusion 360 Manage, to complement Vault and Inventor. “Autodesk was very helpful in putting together all our needs for the best possible solution. Digitalization helps better new working procedures become standard,” said Marco Padrun, CTO at Evatec. “With Autodesk we can now cover the CAD, product data management and lifecycle management. We have a simple one stop solution.”

“What we have done now makes us flexible and ready to implement all the exciting new ideas we have for the future,” concluded Klaus Mundle, Head of Product Lines at Evatec.
