Culture Hero award winner shares what she loves most about working at Autodesk

3 min read

I’m a Territory Account Sales Executive at Autodesk. I’ve been with the company for just over four years, and I’m home-based in Chicago, Illinois. (I’m originally from California, so I’m currently FREEZING in Chicago. Even though I’ve been here four years, I’ll never get used to the cold!) In my role, I’m responsible for selling the Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) portfolio to mid-market-sized construction firms in the Midwest, with a focus on Chicago and Indiana.

My work changes drastically day-to-day — from online and in-person meetings with clients to attending trade shows to educating people on Autodesk Construction Cloud — which keeps things exciting. I consider my main role at Autodesk to be a relationship-building aficionado and educator of our construction software to help solve our client’s day-to-day and long-term problems.

Culture is key

One of my favorite things about working at Autodesk? The culture! Company culture is at the top of my list when considering a role, and I’m fortunate to work with great leaders who help shape our culture at Autodesk and keep it fun. I’m also honored to have been named the winner of this year’s ACS Global Sales Culture Hero award, which acknowledges an Autodesker who is consistently working to develop an authentic and positive culture within our organization and embodies our Culture Code. The Culture Code elements I identify with most are Accountable, Authentic Selves, and Empower Decision Makers.

The Culture Hero award is one of the many awards given out at our annual One Team Conference (OTC), where our go-to-market teams and partners come together to align on the year ahead and explore how we can drive growth, deliver a seamless customer experience, and ensure the best outcomes for our customers.

To me, the Culture Hero award celebrates a person who goes out of their way to bring smiles to people’s faces. Someone who participates and celebrates others’ successes. A Culture Hero is constantly working to think outside the box to bring quirkiness to the organization and keep work fun. Someone who helps others in whatever way that they can. I believe these reasons are why I was selected as the winner this year, and I’m so proud to be recognized as a top contributor to Autodesk’s company culture!

One team, one dream

I look at my team as friends. We find happiness in our day to day and support each other wholly when needed, even though we may not all be in the same room. Have a question? Ask your team. Need a pick-me-up? Ask your team. Need to vent? You guessed it, your team. Aside from this, we celebrate each other in our wins and learn from each other in our losses. No rep is left alone, and we truly operate as One Team.

In addition to the culture, Autodesk also has amazing benefits*, such as a six-week paid sabbatical after every four years of service (which I get to go on this year!).

Additionally, I truly feel that I’m working towards a huge opportunity to better the construction industry. This industry is a trillion-dollar business with so much disconnect and poor planning; I truly believe that we’re working to solve those challenges.

If you’re looking for a career where you can make a difference while also enjoying a world-class culture, I encourage you to explore opportunities at Autodesk!
