AU Las Vegas CFP: How to Impress the Panel

Stephanie Wells
April 14, 2017

Each year we receive thousands of class proposals for AU Las Vegas. Needless to say, the competition is fierce. Whether or not your proposal gets selected can come down to the smallest details. To help you prepare, here are some tips on what we’re looking for this year. For starters, be sure to review the CFP Guide carefully.

Dot all your i’s and cross your t’s. Sweat the little things. Craft a proposal that reflects your professionalism, your practice, and your critical thinking.

What we’re interested in this year
Keep in mind that AU is built on the idea that getting better at our jobs demands support, collaboration, and knowledge sharing at every turn. Most AU classes are designed and led by industry professionals for industry professionals. With that said, read on for more about what we’re interested in this year.

Process and workflow
Collaboration across design and engineering domains is increasingly important. We’re especially interested in classes that demonstrate how diverse professionals use a range of skills and tools to foster efficiency, innovation, and disruption—from digital design to construction, to end-to-end manufacturing, simulation and design analysis, animation and visualization across industries, and so much more. We’re always looking for new and disruptive workflows and innovative uses of Autodesk tools and technology.

Business management solutions
In addition to sharing innovative design and engineering solutions, members of AU’s community of experts also offer management and leadership perspectives that can inform and improve business practices. Popular topics explore the adoption and implementation of new technologies, concept-to-completion cycles, and information management in today’s cloud computing and additive manufacturing environments.

In-depth courses for beginners to advanced users
Many members of the AU community have extensive experience with Autodesk products and are looking for in-depth classes that teach new and efficient ways to use those products. Others are just starting out or adopting new Autodesk products into their design and engineering workflows. AU supports people at every stage, so you’ll have an audience wherever your expertise lies. Be sure to specify the skill level your session is aimed at in your proposal.

We know you’ve got the stuff. Call for Proposals is open through May 17, 2017. We can’t wait to hear from you. Submit now.
