Since AU 2017 in mid-November, the BIM 360 team has delivered some important updates for BIM 360 Docs customers. These updates include configurable Issue and RFI reporting, PDF upload performance improvements, a new version of the BIM 360 Android app (V1.8) with Issue and RFI enhancements. In addition, as announced at AU 2017, we have introduced partner integrations for BIM 360 with an inaugural group of more than 50 BIM 360 integration partners!
Docs Web – Reporting and PDF Upload Improvements:
Reporting:
Now BIM 360 Docs provides reporting for Issues and RFI’s for Project Admins (in addition to the CSV export feature introduced earlier this month). To run a report, select the option in the list view. The report will be based on the current filter settings in the list view. The report will be emailed to you as a PDF.
Note that the reporting option is currently limited to Project Admins (and US servers only) at this time.
PDF Upload Performance
Over the past couple of months, we have been working to improve the upload and processing speed for PDF drawings published to the “Plans” folders. Earlier this week we delivered a significant performance improvement, particularly for multi-page PDF drawing sets. We have more planned, so stay tuned for further updates!
Android Update
The BIM 360 Docs Android app has been renamed the BIM 360 app. Version 1.8, which also supports the next gen Field capabilities announced at AU 2017, provides Docs users with the ability to add and delete photo attachments from issues as well as the ability to filter issues, RFI’s, and markups. Here’s a look at adding a photo attachment to an issue in Docs:
