BIM 360 Release Notes

Note: Images are of Cost Management in Autodesk Build. However, the functionality is the same within BIM 360 Cost Management.

Document Generation

  • Document Generation Variable Finder – A new document variable finder is now available to help members easily find and understand what variables to use and preview formatting.
    • Access the finder in the Settings tool in Cost (account/project administrator access required).
    • Navigate to a document template section and click to edit it.
    • Click Look up document variables in the upper right.
    • A new window will open with the document variables related to that template.
    • Expand sections, preview, and copy the necessary variables into your template.
    • Learn more about Variable Finder.
  • Document Bookmarks – If using the browser viewer for PDFs, bookmarks are now automatically created and can be used to navigate generated documents.

Budget Tool

  • Budget Snapshot Report Enhancement – The Budget Snapshot report now includes a new status column showing whether an item has been AddedChanged, or Removed. Also, when exporting the report, a new option allows members to include a variance column showing the delta between snapshot versions.
  • Budget Snapshot Integration State – Within the Budget Snapshots flyout, members can now see if a Snapshot has been integrated with their ERP by clicking the three-dot More menu, then selecting Integration.
  • Enter Custom Attributes Directly in Budget/Contract Overview Columns – To help increase efficiency, members can now directly enter custom attribute information (except for text-type attributes) within the columns of the budget/contract overview table. This can be done without needing to switch to edit mode.
    • Note: Full control, or above permission level is required.
  • Multiple RFQ Recipients – In the Contract Flyout, the additional contract field for RFQ Recipient now allows multiple contacts. Also, in the RFQ flyout, the Contact field now also allows multiple contacts.
    • Note: Only the first member listed will be used in document generation.

Change Order Tool

  • RFQ and SCO Group/hierarchy by PCO – Added the ability for members to group by PCO option (1) or show PCO in hierarchy option (2), or both.
  • Duplicate Cost Items – A new option to duplicate cost items to save time when needing to add similar items in a PCO.
  • Customize Accept & Accepted terms in RFQ workflow – Within the General tab in the Settings tool of Cost Management, project administrator can now modify the two status and action terms used in RFQ workflows.
  • Carry Description from PCO – The system now carries descriptions from the PCO when creating upstream and downstream change orders.
  • ERP/Integration Retention Enhancements – New columns are available to track released and retained amounts per period.
    • Note: The new columns are not turned on by default. Enable them using the column selector gear and add them to a saved view if necessary.
  • Budget Lock Enhancement – Budget lock can now be turned off by an Account Administrator. Also, a new option has been added to prevent budget code creation in the user interface for companies that want the ERP to fully control budget item creation.
