A new way to support design work
Autodesk Assistant is coming to Alias and VRED to help expert users work faster, more efficiently, and with less time spent on repetitive, non-creative tasks. It will also help new and beginner users better understand the tools and accomplish everyday tasks with more confidence.
Less time on setup, more time for design.
Design studios move fast. The work that surrounds great design — preparing data, organizing scenes, validating surfaces — can often take as much time as the creative design work itself. Much of this work is necessary. But a lot of it is also repetitive, manual, and easy to get wrong.
We are building toward a future where Alias and VRED can help you automate these tasks, reclaim time, and create more space to focus on the important creative work instead.
From guidance to getting work done
Learning and Onboarding – Autodesk Assistant for Alias and VRED will begin with learning and onboarding, guiding users to the right tools, explaining when and why to use them, and sharing best practices so teams can get more from the software they already use.
Technical Support – It will also support technical troubleshooting by helping users investigate errors, unexpected behavior, or how-to questions in context — without leaving Alias or VRED.
Execute Commands – Autodesk Assistant will grow into what many teams need most: doing the work. Leveraging the power of our API’s, users will be able to ask in plain language for tasks they would otherwise script or complete through many manual steps. Such as organizing layers, assigning materials, running validation and cleanup, and connecting these steps into repeatable handoffs.
These are the same kinds of tasks your studio might automate today with scripts or small tools — now becoming accessible without needing to write code yourself.
And Autodesk Assistant will be available natively in the apps you already use.
Built with trust in mind
We know AI in production tools raises important questions around security, data handling, predictability, and control.
These are not afterthoughts. We are taking a deliberate approach to safety, transparency, and trust in everything we build.
