How to: present your Forma Site Design findings in Forma Board

Forma Site Design, available in the AEC Collection or as a standalone subscription, offers powerful AI-powered tools for architects and designers in pre-design and schematic design phases.

Create a new board for your site

  1. From the Module Switcher, select Board.
  2. On the board creation page, click Create new board.
  3. The new board opens with an Introduction frame. Select it by the edge and press Delete to start with a blank canvas.

Add a new frame

  1. From the Design toolbar, select Frame.
  2. Click anywhere on the canvas to place the frame.
  3. Select the frame to open the contextual toolbar, and use it to adjust the aspect ratio and opacity.

Add widgets from Site Design

  1. In the left sidebar, click Site Design.
  2. In the panel that opens, select a site from the drop-down menu.
  3. A list of proposals for the selected site appears, select a proposal.
  4. The available widgets for that proposal open in a new panel.
  5. Drag and drop widgets onto the board or into a frame.
  6. As you move widgets, snapping guides appear to help align them.

Edit widgets

  1. Select a widget to open its contextual toolbar.
  2. Use the toolbar controls to:
    • Change the aspect ratio
    • Switch proposals
    • Choose which information appears on the layout (such as title, last updated date, or proposal name)
    • Apply saved camera views
    • Adjust opacity
    • Download a screenshot of the model view

Sun hours analysis widget

  1. Use the date selector to switch between analysis dates.
  2. Click the button in the bottom-right corner of the widget to open the interactive analysis view.
  3. In the interactive view, use analysis tools and export a screenshot with graphics without leaving Forma Board.

Add external images

  1. Drag and drop images from your local files directly onto the board.

Share the board

  1. Click Board members in the top-right corner, then click the plus (+) icon.
  2. Enter up to 50 email addresses.
  3. Assign member roles anf click Share board.

Annotate your board

Present the board

  1. Click Edit presentation in the Design toolbar.
  2. In the right-hand panel, click Select all frames, then click Present.

You now have a collaborative online whiteboard that brings together data, visuals, and insights in a clear, shareable design narrative.
