Hey Gamers! Want to be the One Inside the Game?
Thanks to a cloud-based new third-party multi-platform service called iCrea8, which is built on top of Autodesk ReCap reality capture software, gamers can construct 3D models of themselves from existing photos and then literally put themselves in the game. The result is a whole new level of 3D game personalization experience.
“iCrea8 offers everyone even users with no 3D graphic design skills an end-to-end experience for constructing 3D models from photos, inserting 3D avatars into games, playing personalized 3D games, and 3D printing their avatars,” said Dr. Masuma Ahmed, Founder and President of iCrea8 Inc., which is an Autodesk Developer Partner. “Easier still, users can create 3D models from photos captured with their mobile phone or DSLR camera using iCrea8 service.”
The engine that drives the iCrea8 service on the back end of the iCrea8 cloud is Autodesk Photo on ReCap 360, a professional image-based modeling service powered by the Autodesk cloud. Starting with photos, users can create highly detailed 3D mesh in a matter of seconds, drawing on the intensive computing power of the cloud.
Once users have used the iCrea8 service to construct 3D models of persons or other objects from their photos, they can select a mobile game from a set of iCrea8 3D games and replace a character of their choice with their personalized 3D avatar. Users can also use their avatars in other iCrea8 apps such as i-Dance and watch themselves dancing Gangnam, Belly, Street dancing to name a few.
From there, the game is on, with the users playing as themselves in video games on their mobile devices, laptops, and web browsers. And since half the fun of starring in your own video game or dance is being able to show it to other people, users can share photos of game scenes – such as the personalized 3D game avatar in action or aesthetic dance moves – with friends via social media.
iCrea8 is a cloud based service utilizing patent pending technologies. iCrea8 is showcasing its end to end service at the Apps World North America 2014 in San Francisco on February 5 and 6 where you will have the opportunity to see the demo of iCrea8 end to end service.
