The first point release for Inventor 2026 is here with several powerful enhancements! These updates are designed to improve your efficiency across the board for part and assembly modeling as well as drawing creation. Watch the video below or continue reading through the article.
General enhancements
We kicked off Inventor 2026 with several enhancements for Model States. We have one more to add for this point release. When utilizing “Edit Table” to make changes, you have a new option to visualize the differences between Model States. Choose a Model State row and then select the other rows to want to compare. Notice the variations will display in a light blue color.

Spend less time accessing the file path for the document you have open. Simply right click on the item in your browser and select, “Copy File Path.”

When you access the help guide for API, you will notice more sample code that you can use to get a quick start on your automation strategy.
Sketching
Have you ever created a dimension, but you want the object to move in the other direction? No problem. Create the dimension as usual and then right click on the dimension and select, “Flip dimension.” You also have the option to flip the direction of multiple dimensions at the same time.

What happens when you have a sketch relationship to an object that gets suppressed or deleted? It becomes broken and you will receive an error message. You can now edit that sketch that has the error, and you will find an option to “Replace Reference.” Simply select the new reference to resolve the problem.

Assembly
If you are frequently working in assemblies, then you are consistently editing relationships between parts and subassemblies. You can now double-click on joints and iMates to make changes more efficiently.

It’s common to have duplicate content center parts in your assemblies. You can now select multiple instances and change size for all of them in one step.

A quick shout out to Kent Keller, the Inventor of Kwiksert, for the next few enhancements. When creating multiple constraints to the same reference plane or face, you can select the reference and use multi-select to pick more than one face to constrain to it. This creates multiple constraints in one command. There is also a selection indicator that tells you how many faces you selected.

Drawings
We included the ability to retrieve model dimensions and display them in more than one view. This may not always be standard practice, but it is sometimes necessary to strengthen communication with manufacturing.

Detail labeling has been improved to behave as expected. When the most recent detail view is deleted from the drawing, the next detail view that you create will appropriately reuse the deleted value for the label.
Conclusion
Inventor 2026.1 is another great example of a point release that has several powerful and time saving enhancements to get your work done faster. Upgrade today to experience these new features and we look forward to seeing you again for the next point release later this fall!
