Inventor 101: Creating a Work Plane between 3 Points

Tips & Tricks

By using more advanced work plane creation options inside of Inventor, you’ll be more prepared for whatever designs are thrown your way. One way to create a work plane is from three points. Using dimensioning tools to define different points, you can completely customize exactly where you place a work plane. Any three existing points on a model will work for this creation method, but by defining new points, you’re granted another level of design freedom. Learn more about using this tool and all that it can do in the Inventor 101 videos below.
