Working from home with Inventor, Vault and other Autodesk products

Product News

Autodesk is committed to supporting you during these challenging times. If you are new to working from home, you may be wondering how to access Inventor and your data in Autodesk Vault remotely and how to collaborate with others. The following links and information highlight some of the work-from-home options you have access to as well as some tips and resources to help you remain productive:

Accessing Autodesk Inventor:

  • If you need to download Inventor and have access to your Autodesk Account, you can sign in and download current and prior versions from there. If you do not have access to your Autodesk Account, you can visit the Autodesk software free trials page to download the latest version.
  • Once downloaded and installed, you can access Inventor a few ways depending on your setup:
    • Subscribers with single-user or named user subscriptions can just sign in when using the software as normal. There is no need to request a special license.
    • Customers with active maintenance plans or multiuser subscriptions may request a license specifically for use at home. You can request a home-use license here.
  • As an alternative to a local installation described above, you may be considering virtualization as a way to use an instance of Inventor that is installed on a separate machine. If you decide to go this route, be sure to check out this Autodesk Knowledge Network article for a description of what virtualization is, what you can do within the terms of your agreement, virtualization best practices and tips for Inventor.
