Single Sign-On is here for Standard plans
Keeping data and assets secure is a top priority – no matter what size your team is. That’s why we’re showing our commitment to you by extending the benefit of single sign-on (SSO) to all Autodesk plans. We are committed to enhancing the Autodesk experience and making valuable features available to even more of our customers.
Single sign-on is now included in our Standard, Premium and Enterprise plans. With SSO, teams can use the organization’s credentials to access all Autodesk products and services, eliminating the need for multiple usernames and passwords. With this feature, you can enhance security and streamline administration, while also improving user productivity with one-click access to Autodesk.
What are the benefits of single sign-on?
Enhanced security. SSO uses a single point of authentication, so passwords are received and validated only by the identity provider. Since users only need to remember one password, bad security habits such as writing down passwords are minimized.
Better user experience. With SSO, users can access Autodesk products and services with the same email and password they use for your organization. This saves time for users and reduces requests for a password reset.
Streamlined administration. Admins only need to maintain one email/password combo for each user, and password policies applied to the network are also applied to Autodesk services. If you revoke an employee’s email access, they will also lose access to Autodesk products and services—no need to revoke access to each service individually.
How do I get started?
You can self-activate SSO via our simplified onboarding process. First, review the set-up guide before getting started. This will give you a detailed overview of the steps and how you can prepare. Then, identify or assign new admins to help with the task.
Both primary admins and SSO admins can manage SSO (single sign-on) configuration. Note: You can have multiple SSO admins. Need to assign an SSO admin? Here’s how:
- Go to User Management > By User.
- Click the name of the user you want to designate as an SSO admin.
- Click Change role.
- Select SSO Admin and click Save.
Follow the guided prompts in Autodesk Account and steps outlined in the documentation provided.
Tip: Let your users know about the change to SSO in advance. Once SSO is turned on, users will no longer be able to sign in with their Autodesk password. Instead, they’ll be redirected to their organization’s sign-in page, where they must sign in using the email and password they use for their organization.
Single sign-on is a valuable tool for technology admins, as it can improve security, simplify user management, and increase user productivity. Learn more about how we’re investing and innovating to help our technology admins on the Customer Value Hub.
