Autodesk Vault and Inventor Publisher R1

Great news! Autodesk Inventor Publisher R1 now has support for Autodesk Vault. Inventor Publisher now sports a Vault Ribbon for access and maintaining file status through Vault.

Publisher Vault Ribbon

This starts with the ability to log in directly to Vault from within Publisher. Standard dialog box options apply, even the use of Windows Authentication when configured.

Next you can insert files from Vault into Publisher, ensuring that documentation created will be up-to-date with the latest checked-in files from Vault. This means all Vaulted data including Inventor files, along with STEP, SAT, etc.

Now for the best part. When you save the Publisher file and check it in to Vault, the file (extension .ipb) will have a link to the files it represents. Simply click the Uses tab in Vault to see the family tree.

And when designs are updated and checked into Vault, you can open, check out and update the Publisher .ipb file from the Home Ribbon, keeping all of your technical communications synchronized with Vaulted data.
