As we have discussed in recent posts a number of steps were
taken to improve performance in Vault 2014 including job processing, 64 bit Vault client
support, visualization loading and changes to the get file dialog. Another of the important performance
improvement introduced was touched on in the “get file dialog” article which is
the ability to leverage system multithreading on file download.
In order to speed up file transfer from server to client,
the Autodesk Vault client has had an upgrade to enable parallel file downloads –
this means that the get or open from Vault commands can now download more than
one of the requested files at a time, greatly improving on the time taken to
complete these commands. In several
tests we have seen the download time almost half on the open and get commands.
