Inventor in AutoCAD in Vault (Support for model dependencies)

AutoCAD is everywhere, its flexible, its powerful, it even has a command line for crying out loud!   Little wonder this is the drafting tool of choice for so many people across the world.  It can't quite match Inventor though for straight out 3D modeling power, parametric design and all the benefits that brings with documentation and simple design changes.  If only we could combine their strengths right?

That's the first good news, users are now able to reference a 3D Inventor model directly in the AutoCAD 2013 drawing sheet context, meaning draftsmen can complete the detailing process on a 3D model without Inventor product knowledge.

The second piece of good news?  Autodesk Vault 2013 will manage this relationship meaning AutoCAD documents resolve model dependencies on check-in, as well as during Pack & Go, move and rename operations within Vault.

This important addition is another example of our commitment to best in class integrations and out of the box support for our broad range of CAD products and unique dependencies.
